HSI First Aid, CPR, and AED Certification Course

Course Overview:

The HSI First Aid, CPR, and AED course is designed to provide comprehensive, evidence-based emergency care training that empowers individuals to respond confidently and effectively in the event of a medical emergency. This nationally recognized program conforms to the latest guidelines and meets OSHA requirements for workplace safety. It is ideal for both the general public and designated emergency responders in occupational and community settings.

Course Objectives:

Participants will learn how to:

  • Recognize and respond to medical emergencies, including:

    • Sudden cardiac arrest

    • Stroke

    • Seizures

    • Diabetic emergencies

    • Breathing problems

    • Allergic reactions

    • Shock

  • Perform high-quality adult, child, and infant CPR

  • Use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively

  • Provide emergency care for injuries such as:

    • Bleeding and wounds

    • Burns

    • Head, neck, and spinal injuries

    • Bone, joint, and muscle injuries

    • Heat and cold-related emergencies

  • Apply first aid techniques using standard safety precautions

  • Understand the legal and emotional aspects of responding to emergencies

Course Format:

  • Available in blended learning (online + in-person skills session) or full in-person classroom format

  • Includes hands-on practice with CPR manikins, AED trainers, and first aid supplies

  • Course duration: Approximately 4–6 hours

  • Certification: 2-year HSI Certification upon successful completion
